Ms Mpume Mabuza is the CEO of Downtown Music Hub (DTMH), which offers cutting-edge recording facilities for pre- and post-production of music, film and other creative products, and is home to the museum on the history of SA music. Previously she was Marketing Executive for uShaka Marine World and the 2nd Vice-President of the Durban Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Mpume embodies a people-first approach and has previously owned a strategic branding and communications consultancy. She has over 20 years of management experience spanning various companies including, Hulamin Ltd, Ithala Development Finance Corporation, Investec Bank and Old Mutual. She led the team responsible for rebranding of Hulamin following its unbundling from The Tongaat-Hulett Group and the subsequent listing on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange.

At DTMH Mpume leads a team that strives to optimally utilise resources, create a financially sustainable hub, while fostering an integrated & inclusive music industry and enabling job creation & sustainable businesses. At uShaka,Marine, she succeeded in delivering strategies that attracted 3 million visitors to the park per year. Her qualifications include a B Com and an MBA. Her passion for making a meaningful difference and achieve results has also seen her serving as a board member for many organisations. Currently, she serves on the Morgan Advanced Materials), the African Association of Visitor Experiences & Attractions and the Pietermaritzburg YMCA boards, and plays the role of Chairperson in the former two boards.
